Lauren D. Zamora, "LDZ" as she is affectionately called, grew up in San Antonio, Texas. She attended Holy Spirit Catholic School and Antonian College Prep before landing at Trinity University, where she double-majored in Business Administration and Political Science.
Growing up, her parents, Sylvia and Ruben, instilled in her the importance of service to community, and she thought seriously about how she could contribute to making the world a better place. This led her to pursue a law degree at St. Mary's University.
Lauren has seen how the law works as a public defender in Laredo, Texas, as the managing partner of her own law firm in San Antonio, and as an assistant district attorney for the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office working in the Conviction Integrity Unit. With 16 years as an attorney, she has seen the law from both sides of the legal aisle and believes that restorative justice helps make the community better.
Lauren is a member of Altrusa International of San Antonio and an Executive Board Member for National Association on Mental Illness (NAMI) Texas. When not in court, you can catch her at the McAllister dog park, at a backyard BBQ with her family, or checking out a museum or movie with her niece, Bella, and her godchild, Lola.
